The Predators or Yautja as they are sometimes called are some of my favorite monsters/aliens in cinema. They live by a warrior's code where the strong fight the strong. That being said some of the Predator movies have not been very good.
The Predator exists in the same world as the other movies, this is not a reboot. The government knows about them and has been studying them. The cast here is strange but it works well. Olivia Munn plays a scientist trying to study the Predators though she often points out that they are hunters not predators which has some humor.
This movie is funny which you wouldn't think would work in a Predator movie but it just does. Munn is traveling with a team of ex military who all have problems. The addition of a child to the mix is kinda cool.
My biggest gripe was the super Predator. We didn't need to make them bigger to make them scarier. In my opinion he should have been a Yautja with cooler armor or just better skill. His size and his movements were lame.
Overall I liked it but it wasn't great.
