Lucy (2014)

Human potential is the defining narative of Lucy. What WOULD happen if we were able to reach that potential. This film was visually stunning and the story was very engaging. While it took a hard turn to science fiction I think it did an amazing job of making it's world seem plausible.

Scarlet Johansen is amazing in this film. Her portrayal of the title character Lucy from abject normalcy to the pinacle of human potential is wonderful. At each stage we are reminded that this is the same girl we have known the whole film. She becomes much more than what we were initially given.

The efects and the locations were outstanding but what grabbed me was the jail sequence and the beautiful camera work.

Lucy is not just another sci fi romp it is more.
